Accurst was created as a horror music concept project back in 1999 by Nicholas Triarchos, however it wasnt until 2003 that the first release, Fragments of a Nightmare, was released through Colflesh Records and distributed through Red Stream, Inc.


In 2006, Accursts second album, A Phantoms Noctuary, was released and distributed through the now defunct Serpene Heli Music, a label run by Nicholas Triarchos.


After a long hiatus, with a few tracks recorded in between, Accursts tracks off Fragments of a Nightmare were used in the Hollywood horror films Sinister (2012) and Sinister 2 (2015).


Messenger of Shadows was recorded in mid-2016, and released digitally on 5 September 2016 and available widely. The CD version of the album was released by Aesthetic Death in early 2018.
